Eighties influenced hard rockers AFFAIRE have been signed by US label Perris Records to release their new album “Less Ain’t More”, out on the 19th of April, 2019.
Fans of early Def Leppard, Black-N-Blue, Ratt, Vain, etc, will enjoy this album inspired by the ’80s sound yet updated for the new generation.

Mastered in L.A. by multi platinum award winning engineer Phil Brewster (Sebastian Bach, The Darkness) “Less Ain’t More” brings back a style and sound straight out of the ’80s.
Cowbell… is there a percussion instrument that better represent the second half of the Eighties hard rock? All songs on this album drive the rhythm with a cowbell, in a true American sleazy / hair metal fashion circa 1987.

Of course, you have as well here sharp melodious guitar riffs, rumbling bass lines, strong vocals and catchy choruses. Tu sum up, feel-good rock n’ roll. Just check out the song titles…
Opener ‘Paradise Café’ is a pure rock n’ roll fun track with some early Great White meets Def Leppard ’81 on it, ‘Girls Nite Out’ invites you to a party with its catchy chorus, while ‘Nasty but True’ brings to my mind underrated Americans Black N Blue.

A contagious riff drive ‘Wild Romance’ (LA Guns alike), with its title ‘Unsung Heroes (2 Good 4 Hollywood) brings some US sleazy to the table, then on ‘Japanese Teaze ’89’ some vintage Def Lepp appears again, however the chorus is closer to Ratt.

The band try something different with “Southbay Blues”, a song with a strong vibe as it tells us something about the real world we’re living in and the main riff is a killer.
Also ‘Sidewalk to a Red Light’ shows Affaire’s other side, a midtempo with some keys into the mix and a nice atmosphere.

Very well produced with an ’80s feel – at the same time current and updated – “Less Ain’t More” is a vibrant rockin’ album, all songs being solid and entertaining.
The American hard rock sound & style from the ‘decadence decade’ is present all over, glammy sleazy, hairy metal, et all.
